ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Cristian Londoño Proaño

Quito, 1973. Professor, researcher, poet, science fiction writer, fantasy author, scriptwriter, executive producer, and audiovisual creator. Ph.D. in Communication. Editor and director of the Hispanic American digital science fiction magazine “Teoría Ómicron.” He invented and developed the concept of the Andean fantasy novel. He published the book “Between Science Fiction and Fantasy” (2020); the novels “Dark Nights Big Mouths” (2021); “Mission Antares” (2019); “Twelve Hours” (2016; 2019), “The Return of the Light” (2016); “Underbreak” (2015), “Dead Time” (2015), “The Unproductive” (2014), and “The Instinct of Light” (2011). He published the poetry collections: “Desojare” and “Luna de Solitarios.” He won the awards: I Biennial of Young Ecuadorian Poetry Jorge Carrera Andrade and first prize of the V Outdoor Festival of the Municipality of Guayaquil. He wrote and directed the plays: “Blue Lovers” and “The Black Candles.” He wrote, directed, and produced several documentaries and documentary series such as: “Jorge Enrique Adoum: the Unearthed Poet,” “The Beauty of Feeling,” and “Literamanía.” In 2019, he won the Script Doctors call of the Film Institute, and in 2020, he won the “Emergentes” call of the IFAIC. His research lines are media management, communication media, leadership, music video, scriptwriting, and science fiction.
